2 Card Pedestal
2 Card Pedestal 14" x 48" enclosure (Part Number 8806-1405-01) has 12" x 24"X3/4" plywood mounting surface for Telco equipment.
5 Card Pedestal
5 Card Pedestal 14" x 48" enclosure (Part Number 8806-1409-01) accomodates up to five Fiber Optic Link cards of any configuration. Complete with 10 pair pre-wired punch-down block, these units are completely pre-wired at the factory, and are ready to install. Simply mount Telco equipment onto the backside of the 12" x 24" plywood backboard.
42" Mounting Stake
Provided with each Pedestal. Driven into the ground to support the Pedestal, then secured through the base with stainless steel bolts (provided).
The result of researching our customer's needs, the Fiber Optic Link Dielectric Pedestal incorporates central office side equipment into one complete unit. All fiber interface cards, fiber jumpers and copper terminations are setup at the factory at no additional charge. Just install the CO side pedestal at a convenient ground location, terminate your incoming telco service to the prewired punch-down block, then run your fiber to the Sub side equipment.

Pedestal Installation Review

This is an actual installation. The following high voltage Fiber Optic Link equipment installation required approximately 2 hours to completely install including fiber cable.

RLH Industries, Inc. manufactures a wide variety of fiber equipment to accommodate all solutions.

Shown at right is the Sub side of a PCS installation using our RLH 2-Card Housing and Low Density Power Supply inside an existing Power Protection Cabinet. Fiber and cards are located conveniently into one small housing.

PCS Site is located next to a High Voltage Tower in Texas. Output of Fiber Optic Link subscriber side equipment is copper, which is connected to cell site equipment.

At right, same PCS site CO location shown. This separation from the high voltage source and Fiber Optic Link sub cabinet to this pedestal is approximately 800 feet. The CO pedestal and interface with GTE Verizon phone service is along the main roadway next to residential housing.

Here the RLH Pedestal model # 8806-1405-01 is utilized. At 14" in diameter and 48" tall, the semi-buried Pedestal includes 3/4" x 12" wide x 24" tall dielectric plywood mounting board. It also includes a pre-wired 10-pair punch down block and all necessary hardware for mounting additional equipment. The telephone company's equipment mounts on the opposite side of the plywood.

This Pedestal is non-metallic, secure, and is used where appearance of telecom equipment is important.


CO side Fiber Equipment:

CO located with GTE HDSL remote unit. GTE hands off T-1 copper service to Fiber Optic Link equipment. Fiber is then run to Sub side equipment via (2 inch minimum) PVC conduit.
